The DC swamp is composed of a mix of bureaucrats, academics, lobbyists, high priced consultants, political creatures and a host of others unproductive theorists and money grubbers that exploit the energy, dynamism, and potential synergies within society by diverting them to serve themselves. They are highly credentialed with endless theories, but possess little actual know-how. Many have tremendous, unchecked influence over the polity, and will (can) ignore or bend laws as it suits them. One thing unites them, and with their bothers and sisters on Wall Street, in media, and big pharma, is a belief they all share – they are better than you! The only interest they have in the hard working tax-paying citizens is finding more clever ways to extract their wealth and productivity to redistribute among themselves. They also happen to be the premier virtue signalers. Which is a peak into their delusions; a by-product of a culture out of sync without aspiration. They are heavily indoctrinated and happily believe in the myth, lore, and lies they tell. Those with the most prestigious titles with the highest credentials have largely become “sell outs”. They have sold their souls to play and prosper within a system(s) they now fight to preserve. This benefits those in control, which unfortunately is not the people. For this, they are rewarded generously materially and feel important. The DC swamp does not care if you listen to NPR, read the NYT, support their narratives, have blue hair, and look down on rednecks. They still believe they are better than you, but they appreciate your support, you are the source of their power.
I can’t think of anything less American than not questioning a bloated, institutionally corrupt, extremely powerful central government; and investigate the motives of swamp creatures who self-style themselves as something like aristocrats by divine right, just without the accountability.
What most people need to realize, wake up to, is that these folks dislike you and just want to loot you and posterity while you shut up and take it. If the American people can wake up the this, there is a good chance we’ll be fine, if not… brace for impact! It should be acknowledged, for the irony, that it is the academics and the bureaucrats that have lead us down this primrose path. We created the most credentialized society history and nobody knows how to do anything. Now that’s funny!
The swamp is real! It is a mindset produced by essentially selling your soul into institutionally corrupt systems, a moral rot accompanied by a lack of accountability. The parasites, the centralized bureaucracy and its favored cadre, are killing the host, while the people are bemused in the theater of the absurd – politics, celebrity, consumption etc.
