Facebook changing its name to Meta and promoting the Metaverse, a digital 3D virtual reality where users relate to others via an avatar, is foretelling. As life gets suckier, due to massive resource extraction and debt expansion (thanks Boomers), especially for the young, more and more people will retreat to living online. It has already been noted that the pandemic pushed more users online for longer and increasingly into the Metaverse. We knew ahead of the pandemic that spending a lot of time online, particularly on social media, has major mental health consequences, especially for young girls, but the pandemic has short circuited many virtues and is thrusting us into a new way of life. As the physical world falls apart, standards of living drop, and people become much less free they will abandon these circumstances and find refuge in a digital world. That seems to be the plan and Facebook is trying to capitalize and capture the market. The government response to the pandemic has been great for our Nation’s large multi-nation corporations, tech companies, darlings of Wall Street and the Democratic Party, but I repeat myself. It has been a boon for everything virtual and a tragedy for the physical.
This is the trade off we are choosing, a collapsed society and globe where wealth and power has become extremely consolidated, but a compliant blue-pilled populous will be contented in the Metaverse. They won’t care if they are filed away in a shitty cramped rental, afraid to go outside, unhealthy, dependent on the government to supply the basics, or any other harsh reality, as long as they get feel like someone in make believe. Already you can buy virtual real estate, clothing, and trinkets, soon a wide variety of virtual services will be sold, and since it is the internet, porn and prostitution will receive special attention. The horrors of real life will be ignored, as the population will give up freewill and meaningful life pursuits to mimic these instead inside what is basically a prequel to the ‘Matrix’. The majority of the populous will be controlled and addicted, many may even think they are happy.
If we look at who has benefited due to the government response to the virus, it is big tech, pharmaceuticals, energy, large asset owners, and banking and finance. Who has been hurt, small business, the wage earners, the middle class, and most of all the children – that sounds like the far left agenda if there ever was one. Truth be told, the Biden administration is doing everything they have been instructed. The administration policies make no reasoned sense and have become divorced from scientific findings, data, and increasingly is at odds with the public trust, law, and the general welfare. They are treating the Constitution like toilet paper and covering up this abuse with gaslighting and lies guarded by a complicit corporate owned media complex. I am pretty sure we are tipping toward literal fascism, no longer just hyperbole of the Trump years.
As the Build Back Better agenda (aka Great Reset) states, “It is 2030, you will own nothing and you will be happy.” Already we can see that Gen Z has little ambition, a quarter of 18-24 year olds do not have a job or go to school. They seem contented with little more than a place to sit or lay-down while they “live” the majority of their time online. They are prime for the Metaverse. The first generation of children to grow up in the Metaverse, currently infants, will likely “live” the majority of their years in virtual reality… obviously this will change everything.
